The Phoenix Theatre is holding auditions for their Summer Apprentice Program on Friday, April 26th from 6pm to 9pm. and Saturday, April 27th from 12pm to 5pm.  Callbacks for the program will be May 4th from 12pm to 5pm. Audition will be held at SALT Performing Arts, 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs, PA.

Apprentices will be cast and understudy roles in The Phoenix Theatre’s mainstage production of The Tempest.  Apprentices will also receive classes in Viewpoints, Meisner, Linklater, The Phoenix Theatre’s approach to Shakespeare and other classes focused on theatre.  Class schedule will be based on availability.

Rehearsals for apprentices in The Tempest begin June 1st and go to July 4th with performances beginning July 5th and ending July 21st. Performances are Friday evenings, Saturday matinees and evenings, and Sunday evenings.  Rehearsals will be in the evenings during the week and daytimes on the weekends. Rehearsals will take place in West Chester, PA with performances at SALT Performing Arts in Chester Springs, PA.  All apprentices are responsible for their own transportation.

Please prepare one contemporary and one classical monologue totalling no more than two minutes.  Also, you may be asked to sing a short song of your choice a cappella. We strongly encourage actors to audition who have a movement background, especially with viewpoints and modern dance.  Please submit a headshot/resume to to schedule an appointment.
